Manages the overall on–site activities at all Friends of Children and Families (FOCAF) Head Start locations to ensure compliance of Head Start educational and operational Performance Standards and to provide quality comprehensive family–centered early childhood services.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Assists with hiring and making hiring recommendations.
- Provide training and technical assistance to staff.
- Develops policies, reports, and procedures that are necessary to implement the Head Start Performance Standards.
- Supervises the Center Supervisors and the Maintenance Technician.
- Supports Center Supervisors in ensuring centers, classrooms and other learning environments are adequate, safe, and conducive to learning and development.
- Supports Center Supervisors in ensuring that staff have the resources necessary to provide the highest possible quality services.
- Monitors Center Supervisors to ensure they are meeting and following through with all program policies, procedures, and Head Start Performance Standards.
- Assists the Center Supervisors with the operation of the centers including the upkeep of the center facilities and ensuring compliance with all licensing regulations.
- Oversees the submission and completion of work orders.
- Partners with the Maintenance Technician to update and maintain the Facilities Plan.
- Supports Center Supervisors in leadership of their staff to include guiding, training and coaching,
- Maintains professional communications with children, parents, and the community.
- Supports Center Supervisors with the scheduling of center staff to meet required teaching/child ratio guidelines.
- Oversees and monitors the center budgets and purchases.
- Coordinates with the Health and Safety Manager in the monitoring/observation/implementation of safety and emergency policies and procedures.
- Collaborates effectively with the other managers to ensure integrated program operations; implement program goals and work with the team to jointly address and resolve problems.
- Represents the organization in one community group with monthly or quarterly attendance based on community group need.
- Keeps immediate supervisor, and designated others fully and accurately informed concerning work progress.
- Prioritizes and adjusts to the changing demands of the position.
- Supervises program operations and monitors program compliance.
- Handles and adapts to stressful situations.
- Ensures that center inventories are completed, and center needs are prioritized and promotes efficient use of budget.
- Demonstrates commitment for professional development and continuous growth by actively seeking out and participating in training opportunities.
- Engages with supervisor and co-workers on constructive and timely feedback, accepting feedback as a growth opportunity, and is open to continuous improvement for oneself and the organization
- Required BA/BS in Human Services, Public or Business Administration, Early Childhood Development, Education, Psychology, Public Health, or a related field.
- Three years of progressively responsible supervisory/management positions in public or non-profit agency.
- Must pass a physical and TB test.
- Must pass an enhanced criminal background check that meets required state, federal, and FOCAF Head Start Performance Standards.
- Must pass a drug test and submit to random drug and/or alcohol testing.
- Ability to complete and maintain Boise City Child Care Worker License.
- Ability to complete and maintain certification in First Aid and CPR.
