Job Summary
The Youth Services Coordinator works with the Program Manager in implementing, supervising, and evaluating all young adult programs and activities provided, as well as assisting in the recruiting, training, and evaluating of volunteers. This position is to collaborate with area schools and community organizations, assist with membership recruitment, and work to market and promote the clubhouse program.
Youth Services Coordinator reports to the Program Manager.
Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
Program Management
- Oversee members and volunteers to ensure accurate implementation of clubhouse programs, including age-appropriate programming, relevant evidenced-based practices, and with the consideration of direction from the Clubhouse Advisory Committee.
- Maintain sign-in/sign-out sheets at each clubhouse event. Document daily activities and services provided.
- Keep apprised of planned presenters, activities and programming for the Clubhouse.
- Plan and implement programming for Young Adult Clubhouse.
- First person arriving for the center’s day of scheduled public programming opens the center, checks voicemail, and ensures building is clean and ready for operation.
- Last person to leave for the center’s day of scheduled public programming locks all offices, files, and doors, make sure lights, heat and air conditioning are turned off.
- As assigned, open the center in advance of special events and/or scheduled meetings.
- As assigned, make preparations to have supplies ready to go for any offsite scheduled activities, including outreach and tabling.
- Attend all staff meetings and trainings as assigned.
- Ensure that all FOR-DO policies and procedures are observed.
- Develop and maintain the Clubhouse Advisory Committee, maintain minutes of each meeting, and present to Program Manager for review. Organize, schedule, promote, and lead monthly clubhouse advisory committee meetings. Invite community partners to participate.
- Prepare, update and promote monthly calendar of events.
- Participate in clubhouse promotional and advertising efforts and assist FOR-DO Marketing Manager with any promotional efforts as needed.
- Uphold program participants to the clubhouse code of conduct.
- Ensure clubhouse security protocols are followed and monitor the clubhouse environment to provide adequate supervision and safety.
Coordination
- Recruit, train and schedule volunteers and interns interested in providing needed support and services for clubhouse participants, and provide oversight for their activities.
- Provide volunteer orientations with new interns, volunteer, and staff.
- Develop, promote, and maintain a wide range of volunteer opportunities within the organization.
- Recommend the most efficient use of volunteers, appropriate volunteer/supervisory mix, and future workforce needs to support volunteer program operations.
- Develop and maintain relationships with the colleges and other volunteer organizations in the area.
- Make sure complete any required volunteer and internship paperwork through the colleges and volunteer organizations.
- Maintain records of all volunteers and in-kind staff, and provide accurate reporting.
- Maintain a climate which attracts, keeps and motivates “members,” staff, interns and volunteers.
- Provide ongoing support and guidance for volunteers and interns.
- Train volunteers to use office and specialized equipment when appropriate.
- Keep track of hours worked by correctly using the HCMtoGo app, and accomplish assigned tasks within the allotted number of weekly work hours so as to not accrue overtime.
Peer-to-Peer Services
- Serves as a Peer in a variety of capacities as needed.
- Provide transportation to clubhouse participants as needed.
- Provide information and referrals to clubhouse participants, service providers and the community as needed.
Record Keeping
- Conduct intake of new “members,” ensuring membership forms and any other required paperwork is completed.
- Prepare monthly reports on programs, facility usage, activities, and client transportation.
- Keep accurate record of purchase and distribution of gas cards to clubhouse participants.
- Maintain accurate records and provide timely statistical and activity reports on volunteer participation.
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to adequately express and exchange ideas with young adult members, co-workers, and others.
- Ability to receive and convey detailed information through oral and written communication.
- Public speaking in various settings.
- Collaborative style and the ability to work respectfully with diverse populations.
- Proficient with basic computer skills including Microsoft Office and social media.
- Ability to setup, teardown, and move gear upwards to 30 pounds, and be physically fit enough to lead and participate in various, physically challenging programs such as hiking, exercise, sports, etc.
Qualifications:
- Must have a valid Driver’s License for operation of company vehicles.
- Should possess a minimum of a GED or high school diploma and have experience with Microsoft Office.
- An Associate’s degree or higher preferred.
- Formal training in addiction, recovery, or human services is preferred, but training can be provided.
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience working with youth or young adults.
- First-hand experience with the marketing and promotion of an organization and/or public events.
- Having a familiarity with local community groups and social services is preferred, but training can be provided.

Pay: $22.00 per hour
