TNVR Specialist
MEOW Now, a program of Friends of Strays, works to humanely reduce the free-roaming cat population in Pinellas County by providing targeted Trap - Neuter - Vaccinate - Return (TNVR), intake of community cats from caregivers directly (commonly referred to as Return to Home), caregiver support and advocacy.
The TNVR Specialist will coordinate and assist with the programmatic aspects of the MEOW Now! (MN). They will handle incoming calls for support, record community cats in our Pet Point system and Cats Stats database and assist with returning cats to their outdoor homes. They will work closely with program volunteers for logistical coordination.
WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
Works directly with the Shelter Director, TNVR Program Manager and FOS medical team. The TNVR Specialist will work closely with approved volunteers to help with scheduling of trapping, handling, and transport.
All staff are encouraged to work together to reach our lifesaving goals.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
· Scheduling of surgeries with FOS medical team or partners
· Scheduling of trapping, returns and program volunteers
· Assisting with transport of cats to and from rescue and shelter partners.
· Coordinating and scheduling animals going to and from the shelter
· Accepting calls from the public with questions or concerns related to TNVR.
· Educating the public on community policies and the importance of TNVR.
· Handle monetary transactions and follow proper receipt protocol.
· Review and document any pertinent customer information into the Pet database.
· Assisting in all aspects of the shelter as needed.
Skill Requirements
· Must demonstrate the Core Values of the organization on and off the job.
· Ability to read, write and communicate effectively.
· Computer skills to include Microsoft Suite Programs.
· Ability to work daily under stress and pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
· Ability to work with minimal supervision and utilize problem solving skills.
· Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends as required.
· Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
· Able to lift or carry up to 50 pounds.
· Shelter experience preferred.
· Animal handling experience preferred.
· Animal Intake experience is a plus.

· At Friends of Strays, it's all hands-on deck. We work together as a team, which means you may be asked to help with tasks that involve working outside in all sorts of weather. Employees should have the ability to remain calm yet professional in stressful situations involving animals and/or members of the public. Friends of Strays houses many animals in its facility at any given time and with that comes fur, odors, and other airborne particles in abundance.
· This position is scheduled for 5 days/week 8 hours a day; however, the schedule can change and may sometimes require split shifts, evening hours, some holidays or overtime to complete the job. Candidate must be flexible with schedule changes and short notice overtime requests.
