Front Office Receptionist – Veterinary/Medical Experience Required

Friends of the Animals in Medford, OR, is seeking a dedicated Part-Time Front Office Receptionist with the potential to transition into a full-time role.
Position Overview:
This role is ideal for someone with veterinary or medical experience who thrives in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for managing front office operations, coordinating patient check-ins and discharges, supervising and training volunteers, and ensuring seamless communication between clients and clinic staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and check in patients with professionalism and efficiency.
- Communicate with technician staff and assist with patient flow.
- Input charts, print prescription labels, and complete end-of-day reconciliation.
- Notify clients when pets are ready for pickup via phone or text.
- Oversee patient discharge and provide necessary information to pet owners.
- Prepare charts and ensure proper documentation for the following day.
- Train and supervise volunteers to assist with administrative duties.
- Maintain high standards of customer service and communication in a high-volume setting.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a veterinary clinic, medical office, or high-volume spay & neuter facility.
- Familiarity with practice management software; experience with Clinic HQ is a plus.
- Strong understanding of medical or veterinary terminology, procedures, and protocols.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with the public in a professional manner.
- Positive attitude, attention to detail, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Background in animal rescue, shelter operations, or surgical departments preferred.

- Schedule: Part-time, with shifts between 7:30 AM and 3:00 PM, Friday-Saturday. Potential for full-time based on performance and clinic needs.
