Part-Time Veterinary Surgical Assistant/ CVT

As a trusted community partner, we strive to make spay/neuter procedures accessible and affordable for pet owners.

We are seeking an experienced Surgical Assistant or Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) to join our team. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced surgical environment and enjoys mentoring others.

Key Responsibilities:

· Administer and monitor anesthesia during surgery

· Perform surgical prep, including patient induction and positioning

· Oversee extubation and post-operative recovery

· Maintain accurate medical records and surgical documentation

· Supervise and mentor volunteers and trainees

· Assist with instrument sterilization and clinic cleanliness

· Communicate effectively with the veterinary team to ensure optimal patient care

· Lift and handle animals up to 40 pounds

Qualifications:

· Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a veterinary facility is required

· Experience as a surgical assistant or CVT in a veterinary setting

· Strong knowledge of anesthesia monitoring and surgical procedures

· Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

· Commitment to patient safety and welfare

· Excellent communication and mentorship skills

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16 – 24 per week
