Position Overview: Friends School of Baltimore seeks a dynamic and energetic individual for the position of Assistant Director of Annual Giving, available immediately. This non-exempt position is part of the annual giving team of Friends School of Baltimore, participating in all aspects of the annual giving program, called The Fund for Friends, and is primarily responsible for increasing donor participation and average gift size for all constituencies. Additionally, the position is responsible for the direct mail program, student philanthropy programs, and annual giving social media. Responsibilities include participation in the gift processing and donor acknowledging system, database management, growing volunteer involvement, and personal solicitation of annual gifts.

Key Responsibilities
- Work to secure philanthropic support for the School through the annual giving program by helping to achieve goals and objectives, making personal solicitation appeals, drafting messaging, and implementing program elements with special attention to increasing donor participation and average gift size for all constituencies.
- Administer the School's direct mail fundraising program, under the supervision of the Dir. Of AGDO, develop content for The Fund for Friends program, direct all components of solicitation mailings, organize phonathons and volunteers, and lead 1-2 reunion gift efforts per year.
- Assist with the gift entry and donor acknowledgement process.
- Assist with annual giving statistical tracking and assessment, pulling reports, analyzing data and implementing program enhancements based on data-driven decision-making principles.
- Implement phonathons and other fundraising outreach activities for the annual giving program, including but not limited to volunteer recruitment, event logistics and clean up, data preparation, content development, phonathon sheet production, developing and/or editing appeals and scripts, and follow up, etc.
- Utilize Raiser's Edge as a "power user" for all aspects of data needs from mailing lists and report generation to tracking constituency giving and biographical information, as needed.
- Assist with targeting for annual giving ask amounts and scaling gift efforts.
- Serve as liaison for young alumni and student philanthropy. Develop and implement a student education program for future alumni giving and participation.
- Participate as an invested member of the department: attend meetings, accept assignments, assist colleagues and provide support for all ongoing programs and operations, as needed. Help staff evening and weekend programs, events and meetings, as a part of the Development team, including but not limited to volunteer committee meetings, Alumni Weekend, alumni events, parents events, phonathons, all-school activities, etc. as needed and assigned.
- Other duties as assigned.
- A demonstrated interest in Friends School's mission and vision.
- A Bachelor's degree.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
- A self-starter, a creative-thinker and an action-oriented individual with a sense of urgency and passion for implementing strategies and tactics.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, Facebook, LinkedIn and other software and online programs.
- Ability to learn quickly and be able to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Ability to work both traditional and non-traditional business hours. Night and weekend work are required for this position.
- Experience with philanthropy, development, constituent and donor relations, and/or advancement in an educational, K-12 or higher education environment.
- Experience managing and motivating volunteers in a non-profit and/or educational environment.
- Familiarity with specific Blackbaud products (such as Raiser's Edge and Financial Edge), or specific online/website platforms, such as FinalSite or MobileCause.
