What are the responsibilities and job description for the Middle School Science Teacher position at Friends Select School?
Friends Select School seeks a full-time Science Teacher for the 2025-26 school year to teach two sections of middle school science and additional sections of upper school biology. After the 2025-2026 school year, this position will convert to a full-time middle school position. This individual will integrate and model Quaker values and principles in the daily life, teaching, and learning of the middle school and enjoy working collaboratively with students, faculty, and parents.

Duties And Responsibilities
- Create engaging science lessons and laboratory-based activities
- Collaborate with a team of middle school teachers and science department members
- Foster an inclusive learning environment using a friendly and collaborative approach
- Integrate technology into daily classroom activities and lessons
- Consult with the Director of City Curriculum to cultivate relationships with city institutions to enhance their coursework
- Actively participate in additional middle school activities, such as student clubs, committees, and Advisory
- Bachelor's degree required
- Support Quaker school values, a commitment to social justice and anti-racism
- Experience teaching, preferably middle school students
- Experience and proficiency with online learning tools, including learning management systems such as Blackbaud and Google Workspace
