Friendship Education Foundation was established in 2014 as a 501(c)3 non-profit Charter Management Organization (CMO). FEF was created to replicate and expand the Friendship school design nationally. Since then we have opened new schools and managed turnaround and takeover schools in 3 states (Maryland, Louisiana and Arkansas) and the District of Columbia. FEF differs from an EMO because we are a non-profit company.
The Friendship Education Foundation seeks to nationally replicate the educational programs and best practices that have been successfully implemented to low income and economically disadvantaged students in DC. The Friendship School Design was developed and refined over the past 17 years by Friendship Public Charter School, Inc.
Beginning with just one location in 2018, Friendship Public Charter School, Inc opened its first campus in Arkansas in the city of Pine Bluff. Now, Friendship Aspire Academy Public Charter School of Arkansas now spans over 8 schools in the cities of Pine Bluff, Little Rock, North Little Rock, and Maumelle. We currently serve a network enrollment cap of 2,600 and 135 employees. Our rigorous curriculum, exemplary instruction, resource-rich forums and total commitment to student advancement have made Friendship one of the nation's top charter systems.

Position Purpose
An elementary school teacher is responsible for educating and nurturing young children. The primary role is to create a positive learning environment and facilitate the academic, social, and emotional development of their students.
Responsibilities
Teaching and Learning
- Demonstrate the highest level of instructional expertise and content mastery
- Lead students to high levels of academic success through rigorous, targeted, and differentiated instruction
- Design and deliver engaging instruction addressing full range of student needs and learning styles
- Develop formal and informal assessments to measure student mastery
- Use data to drive instruction
- Hold students accountable to high academic and behavioral expectations
- Align practices and routines to an achievement-oriented classroom culture
- Foster a safe environment that encourages curiosity, academic risk-taking, accountability,and collaboration
General
- Establish a professional rapport with students and with staff that earns their respect,maintaining visibility with students, staff, parents, and the community
- Display the highest ethical and professional behavior and standards when working with students,parents, school personnel, and agencies associated with the school
- Serve as a role model for students, dressing professionally, and demonstrating the importance and relevance of learning, accepting responsibility and pride in the education profession
- Attend required staff meetings and serve, as appropriate, on staff committees
- Continue to grow professionally through collaboration with colleagues and professional growth experiences
- Promote parent involvement through meaningful and consistent communication
- Maintain high professional standards in communication with students, teachers, parents, and school administrators
Desired Experience
- Minimum of two (2) years teaching experience in an elementary, urban school setting.
- Documented evidence of successfully raising student outcomes.
- An ability to critically assess challenges and identify appropriate solutions
- Demonstrate in-depth knowledge and understanding of child growth and development, effective instructional strategies, classroom management, learning assessment, and diagnosis, and research related to teaching and learning the specific content area he/she instructs
- Have ability to implement curricula and structured teaching
- Exhibit a personality that demonstrates enthusiasm and interpersonal skills to relate well with students, staff, administration, parents, and the community
- Demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate with a range of stakeholders
Qualifications
- Minimum Bachelor’s required
- Arkansas Qualified Teacher status required
- Arkansas Teaching Certification preferred
