Key Requirements
The successful candidate must possess a valid New York State driver license suitable for the vehicles operated. Additionally, they must meet the necessary qualifications outlined in the Rules and Regulations of the NYS Commissioner of Education.
Job Duties
\. Operates a school bus or other company vehicle with precision and attention to detail
\. Conducts thorough checks before each trip to guarantee the vehicle's operational readiness
\. Immediately reports any operational issues to the supervisor
\. Communicates essential safety guidelines to students
\. Fosters a calm and organized environment within the vehicle
\. Maintains a clean and tidy interior and exterior of the vehicle
\. Accurately documents mileage, routes, times, and incidents
\. Develops and updates route maps and pick-up points
\. Prepares detailed reports on incidents involving children riding the bus
\. Provides support to students with special needs as required
\. Performs routine maintenance tasks on the vehicle when necessary.
