EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Practical Nursing Degree from a two year accredited college or technical school and six months to one year related experience. Must hold a current Arkansas LPN license in good standing. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. • Administers medications at any residential facility where licensed nurse is required to administer medications to specific client. • Remains scheduled “on call” for any health related emergencies throughout FCC. • Devises, maintains, and has oversight of proper storage, handling and inventory of medications in residential facilities, Star Industries, and Waiver homes. • Assesses physical complaints of clients and documents complaint, any physical findings, and any treatment rendered. • Assists with on-the-job training of new employees regarding medications and first aid. • Assists with surveillance of all residential facilities and Star Industries to ensure compliance with health and safety policies. • Monitors health status of clients and documents on appropriate forms. • Performs foot care, blood pressure monitoring, dressing changes, as needed or ordered by physician. • Reviews client medical files to ensure all necessary appointments are made and follow ups are completed. • Confers with local/regional doctors in medical case management of clients as need arises. • Reviews and updates medication records as needed of Waiver clients. • Assists with preparation of medication records as assigned. • Escorts clients to medical appointments as assigned. • Provides health/hygiene training to staff and clients. • Provides routine medical information to parents/guardians as requested. • Coordinates medical and health related matters with Nursing Coordinator, nursing staff and Case Manager/Coordinator. • Schedules and coordinates Psychiatric Clinic. • Maintains client files for Psychiatric Clinic. • Maintains up-to-date certification in CPR/First Aid and a current health card (TB skin test). • Maintains valid Arkansas nursing license. • Completes weekly report of clients and directs to Case Managers.
This is a safety sensitive position. Must be able to pass background checks/drug screen and maintain a clean driving record.
Hours: Mon - Fri 7:00am-3:00pm
