*Friendship Home in Audubon, Iowa is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Registered Nurse (Quality Assurance/Compliance/Infection Control) to join our team!*
In this role you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and accuracy of medical records and documentation as well as taking the lead on infection prevention within our long-term care facility. You will play a crucial part in maintaining compliance with industry standards and regulations. Your expertise will help us uphold the highest standards of patient care and safety.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Conduct thorough reviews of medical records to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established guidelines.
- Identify areas of improvement in documentation practices.
- Reviews, monitors and ensures compliance with assigned policies and procedures.
- Partners with DON to develop, implement, and evaluate annual infection prevention goals and action plans.
- Oversee the operations of the infection prevention, epidemiology, industrial hygiene, and relevant safety programs.
- Develop comprehensive infection control policies and procedures based on guidelines from regulatory agencies such as the CDC and OSHA.
- Conduct regular training on topics and policies including hand hygiene, PPE use, environmental cleaning, waste management, and outbreak response.
Skills necessary to be successful in this position include:
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and documentation review processes.
- Experience working in a long-term care facility
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and public health policies and procedures.
- Ability to analyze complex information and provide actionable insights.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective collaboration with staff.
- Detail-oriented mindset with strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively and efficiently.
