Friendship is looking for a PRN Registered Occupational Therapy to join our Friendship Health and Rehab North team, located in Roanoke, VA. The Occupational Therapist is responsible for treating injured, ill, or disabled patients through the therapeutic use of everyday activities. They help these patients develop, recover, and improve the skills needed for daily living and working.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Execute goal-oriented treatment plans and programs in coordination with other departments
Adhere to departmental, organization and regulatory agency policies and procedures
Assess treatment plan progressions to identify any deficiencies and make adjustments as may be necessary
Participate in program development, quality assurance and improvement efforts
Supervise and collaborate with rehab aides/techs, OT/COTA students and others as assigned
Identify areas of opportunity to improve quality of care for residents and/or improve departmental operations
Work with other departments to provide the best care for each resident by identifying opportunities to cross-treat
Comply with all local, state, federal, and facility policies and procedures
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy required, Masters preferred
Valid Occupational Therapy Licensure in the state of Virginia required
Experience in a long-term care/rehabilitation facility preferred
Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language
This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching all day. The employee must frequently lift or move objects and patients weighing over 50 pounds. Dexterity is also necessary
