Who You Are:
We are seeking a candidate with a strong positive attitude towards customer service to act as a Certified Medication Technician for our skilled nursing facility. This person will have a genuine interest in geriatric care and be able to motivate staff and residents. Responsibilities:
Safely prepares and administers oral and topical drugs as prescribed by a physician and
consistent with FV medication administration protocols.
Records administration of the medication on the resident’s medication administration record.
Reports medication errors or reactions to medications immediately to the charge nurse.
Reports and records observations and results of treatments, tests, procedures, and specimens
when indicated.
Performs accurate pulse and blood pressure and recognizes their significance in drug therapy.
Provides support with Activities of Daily Living as assigned safely and consistently with
FV policies and procedures. Documents all tasks completed.
Contributes to resident safety by identifying safety hazards and emergencies and
initiates corrective action as appropriate.
Requirements:
Successful completion of State approved Medication Technician Course.
Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively, and perform simple arithmetic. Ability to document care given.
