• Starting Salary : $76,000-$83,600 per year depending on years of experienceSchedule : Monday-Friday 8 : 00am-4 : 30pmSummary : The Quality Care Specialist (QCS) is a professional nurse who, through study and nursing practice, has become proficient in identifying opportunities for improvement by measuring outcomes and recommending action(s) to promote Resident centered quality of care and services through implementation of Quality Assurance Performance Improvement (QAPI) principles. The QCS utilizes the concepts, values and methods of QAPI. Under management leadership, the QCS assists in implementing the QAPI Program's principles to achieve facility vision, strategies and compliance with Federal and State Regulations. The QCS collaborates to identify and support opportunities for managing and improving quality of care outcomes, satisfaction, efficiency and resource utilization. The QCS is also the Infection Preventionist (IP). The IP is a professional nurse who has completed specialized training in infection prevention & control and works at least part time. The IP is proficient in promoting a culture of safety for Residents, families, Residents' Representative, visitors, employees and community by preventing infections and communicable diseases. The IP utilizes the concepts, values and methods of infection prevention and control. Under management leadership, the IP assists in implementing the Infection Prevention and Control Program's (IPCP) principles to achieve facility vision, strategies and compliance with Federal and State Regulations. EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE Graduate of approved school of nursing At least 2 years' experience in clinical nursing or related experience. Leadership experience in supervisory / management position. Knowledge of Long Term Care Regulations. Experience in QAPI and IPC. Familiar with computer programs PointClickCare (PCC), PowerPoint, Excel and Word. Statistical data management and reporting skills utilizing computer spreadsheets and graphics. Effectively read, write and communicate in English. Verbal and written communication skills necessary to interact with all levels of personnel, management and physicians on individual and group basis. Educate / in-service staff. Facilitate and participate various committees. Autonomy and organizational skills.CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS : Current LPN or RN license in the state of Arizona. CPR, current certification. Specialized training in infection prevention and control current or within 6 months of hire. Obtain National Health Safety Network / SAMs access no later than 3 months of hire.
