As an Electrical Panel Builder, you will build electrical control panels for our custom designed automated processing equipment. Control panels vary in size from small to very large. You are responsible for putting the power and brains to the equipment. Our clients are the Top Fortune 500 Consumer Producing Companies in the World.
This position works at our Detroit Lakes, MN location with lots of room for on-the-job training and career growth!
Responsibilities:
- Wiring and labeling control panels
- Be able to following electrical Schematics and follow bill of materials
- Mount and wire controllers, motors, VFD's, relays, motor starters, circuit-breakers panels, indicator lights, disconnects and switches into enclosures using screws, bolts and hand/power tools.
- Test continuity of the circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components using testing instruments such as ohmmeter, and/or megger.
- Running test on equipment
- Troubleshooting problems
- Working with AC/DC drives, electrical component analysis, use of electrical meters and oscilloscopes, and basic mechanical repair.
- Work on AC/DC systems up to 600 volts
- Knowledge and application of basic 110–480-volt electrical theory.
- Programming motors & VFDs
- Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assemble and install electrical conduit using tools such as hacksaw, pipe threader and conduit bender
- Work is project-orientated and you may be working on a number of projects, all at various stages, at any given time.
Requires a high school degree with 1-5 years of experience or 2-year Technical College degree in related field. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Has knowledge of electrical theory, AC/DC systems, electrical wiring concepts, practices, and procedure. The ability to read and understand electrical schematics. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision. Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment. Reports to a supervisor or manager.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
