Overview:
Frightmare Farms Haunted SCREAM Park is seeking creative, detail-driven, efficient, and haunt-loving Makeup Artists to join our Corpse Crew for the 2025 haunt season. If you have a passion for character creation, horror aesthetics, and transforming people into nightmarish creatures, we want YOU on our team. This is more than just makeup—it’s performance art, storytelling, and total transformation.
Duties:
- Apply professional-grade SFX and character makeup for scare actors based on lookbooks, themes, and attraction needs.
- Collaborate with the Creative Team to bring haunted characters to life through airbrush, prosthetics, gore effects, and traditional makeup techniques.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workspace in high-paced environments.
- Stay up-to-date on current makeup and SFX techniques, tools, and safety standards.
- Assist with makeup look testing, media days, and special events as needed (including Summer Scream).
- Provide guidance to newer makeup assistants and crew members.
- Contribute to the overall energy, morale, and creep-factor of the team!
Skills & Requirements:
- Experience with SFX, theatrical, or haunt-style makeup strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of airbrushing, prosthetic application, latex work, and basic beauty makeup.
- Understanding of color theory and skin tones for both realistic and fantasy effects.
- Ability to work in fast-paced, high-pressure environments with tight call times.
- Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude.
- Must be reliable, professional, and able to work evenings and weekends in September and October.
Bonus if you have:
- Cosmetology or esthetics license (not required but welcomed)
- Experience with costume or prop creation
- Previous work in haunted attractions or themed entertainment
