SUMMARY -Oversees And Coordinates Work Of The Yard Crew.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Tracks and maintains records of parts needed on equipment.
Orders and picks up parts.
Ensures that all vehicles are registered and licensed and all titles and registrations are updated.
Ensures all vehicles are appropriately insured.
Makes work assignments; determines whether equipment should be moved or repaired on site.
Supervises farming and watering.
Supervises dewatering of pollution ponds.
Maintains records of water usage including fresh and pollution.
Determines whether work can be done by BCC crew or if service needs to be subcontracted.
Observes employees and examines work to determine effectiveness and quality.
Performs activities of workers supervised.
Cleans and readies pens for cattle.
Scrapes manure onto mound with front end loader and tractor.
Fills in any holes.
Repairs bunks and lays cement as necessary.
Assesses pens as to readiness for new cattle.
Checks with Cattle department to determine arrival of animals.
Repairs gates and cable.
Maintains, and repairs automatic waterers in pens.
Ensures maintenance and cleanliness of yard.
Checks water wells.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervises 5 employees on the yard crew. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the company’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Mathematical Skills
Ability to work with mathematical concepts related to equipment, parts, and ordering.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals including battery acid and metal cleaning compound.
