Job Summary
This position is responsible for Inventory, receiving and working in Fripp Ship and Salt Sea Mercantile.
Duties and Store Responsibilities
- Learn store operations, work at different locations when needed, cover for manager.
- Receive, count, and inspect merchandise; post quantities received; return merchandise if required.
- Print price stickers and tags; ensure delivery of merchandise to retail locations.
- Maintain inventory database, update software for new inventory items, merchandise cost and retail price changes.
- Provide documents & equipment to retail locations for physical inventory and assist with physical inventory counts.
- Review inventory counts for accuracy, investigate irregularities, and post needed corrections.
- Communicate with vendors, delivery companies and retail employees and managers regarding all aspects of inventory.
- Help deliver merchandise to different store locations on the island.
- Quarterly Inventory
- Additional duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required, with similar experience a plus. Certificate program or College degree preferred.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and general computer software use.
- Strong organizational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.
- Effective teamwork and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate verbally and in writing with all levels of employees and vendors and thrive in a cross-functional environment.
- Great customer service skills including listening carefully and exercising patience.
- Uses critical thinking to problem solve and multi-task.
- Valid driver’s license, criminal background check, and drug screening required.
Physical Requirements
This position requires the ability to sit and/or stand for prolonged periods of time without a break; the ability to lift up to 25 lbs. and the ability to move and unpack boxes of merchandise.
