Position Objective:
In accordance with the standards and recommendations of CMS and applicable laws and regulations, administers care at Frisbie Memorial Hospital in a professional, efficient and ethical manner.
Patient Population Served:
The OB/GYN Physician is expected to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide OB/GYN care in the office and hospital settings. Including procedures outlined in Core Privileges of the Medical Staff By Laws.
Essential Position Functions:
Under the general direction of the Vice President of Medical Affairs, in accordance with the standards and recommendations of CMS, applicable laws and regulations of the State of New Hampshire and within the established policy and procedures, the incumbent performs the following functions:
Provide medical treatment and advice to patients as may be indicated in the practice of OB/GYN.
Participates in shared after hours call coverage.
Participates on inpatient rounding, coverage and medical backup.
Participate in sign-out rounds, phone conferences and other forms of clinical information exchange as agreed upon by the group.
Participates in quality assurance plan as directed by the VPMA.
Prescribes and/or dispenses required medications to patients.
Respond in a timely manner to calls from ER, referring physicians and the nursing staff.
Communicate with the patient and their family about the patient's course of treatment.
Utilize electronic medical record documentation.
Provides medical supervision to assigned staff or other healthcare professionals.
Participates in peer supervisory review.
Review internal and external survey data and make best efforts to incorporate feedback into practice activity.
Fulfills medical staff responsibilities as required by the Medical Staff Bylaws for Frisbie Memorial Hospital.
Non-Essential Position Functions:
Performs other duties as assigned or as judgment or necessity dictate.
Position Qualifications:
Member of the FMH medical staff in good standing.
Current licensure and specialty certification as directed by the medical staff bylaws.
