Quaker Oats, part of PepsiCo, is looking for a Chewy Operator to work in our fast-paced 24-hour operating manufacturing environment.

The Chewy Operator is responsible for manufacture and packaging of Quaker's Chewy granola bars.
As a Full-Time team member, you would work at least 40 hours per week (on average) and overtime may be required. We set industry standards in terms of pay and benefits. As a Chewy Operator, you can expect to work on your feet through most of your shift near heavy machinery in a loud manufacturing environment. The temperatures in our Chewy department stay cool to maintain product viability.
Frequent tasks you could expect to perform:
- Set-up and operate multiple packaging machines to ensure accurate code dates, weights, and that products are put into appropriate wrappers/boxes.
- Check that products are dated and sealed with a minimum amount of wasted product and supplies.
- Ensure that products to be packed remain clean.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area. Safety is everyone's job.
- Maintain quality assurance compliance.
- Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices, such as frequent handwashing, hairnets, no jewelry, etc.
- Wear protective gear when using chemicals to clean and sanitize lines during changeovers from one product to another.
- Keep accurate records and comply with appropriate documentation processes.
- Troubleshoot commonplace problems and make operational adjustments.
Chewy Operators work with all the ingredients included in our Chewy granola bars, which means you should consider the potential allergens and sensitizers, such as dairy, peanuts, wheat, soy, and coconut.
Minimum requirements for this position:
- You are at least 18 years of age or older
- You must be flexible to work overtime, weekends, and as needed based on production needs.
- At least 1 year of manufacturing experience in a high-speed environment is preferred
- Ability to lift and maneuver 50 pounds with or without a reasonable accommodation
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time with or without a reasonable accommodation
- Ability to climb, bend, reach, stoop, kneel, and stretch for extended periods with or without a reasonable accommodation
- Ability to repeatedly lift, carry, push, pull, and handle products with or without a reasonable accommodation
- You are willing and able to work at heights using ladders or lifts to access areas of the plant
