What are the responsibilities and job description for the Team Lead - Core Wearhouse position at Frito-Lay North America?
This role is seeking a dynamic Team Lead/Forklift operator to drive collaboration, efficiency, and innovation within our team. In this role you will provide guidance support to the front-line team as well as strategic direction to ensure operational excellence. This role will impact business growth by driving success, improving processes, and fostering a high-performance culture.
In this role, here are some of the frequent tasks you will be doing when working as a Team Lead:
- Drive Shift Performance and Create Urgency Around Events (Safety, Food Safety, Downtime, Labor, Labor Management (LM), etc. )
- Run the Dock Office and Execute Daily Run Right Venues (Pre-Shift, Powerwalks, Walls, Shift Wrap, Weekend Performance Reviews, 24 Hr Reviews)
- Own Shift Labor Management Performance and Lead/Troubleshoot Service Performance
- Conduct Team 1-1s and Coach Team to Better Individual and Team Performance. (Expected to Conduct Oneself with Professionalism, Communicate and Collaborate Effectively with Managers and Other Leads, And Always Treat Others with Respect)
- Escalate When Necessary (Following Safety, Food Safety, and Warehouse Matrices)
- Send Communication to Site via Email (Shift Reports, Incident Summaries)
- Utilize Resources to Notice and Solve Performance (Manhattan, Four Kites, Inventory Control System (ICS), Autoscheduler, etc.)
- Must be able to load cases in some scenarios and get qualified on a forklift, as well as any Other Duties as Assigned
Forklift Operators are critical to our success at FritoLay! Our Forklift Operators are responsible for a variety of typical warehouse duties, including handling material and operating a forklift to move product around a warehouse.
In this role, here are some of the frequent tasks you will be doing when working as a forklift operator:
- Safely operate a forklift after training and certification
- Load and unload pallets of product to and from trailers
- Safely place and store product in multi-tiered warehouse storage
- Pick appropriate cases according to order using required technology
- Properly manager warehouse inventory by using handheld scanners and Inventory Control Systems
- General housekeeping and specific sanitation tasks as required (e.g. you may be asked to sweep the floor, help clean a trailer, take out the trash, etc.)
We are open 24 hours a day, which means you may not have a typical schedule, and our jobs are physical! If you have never worked in a warehouse environment before, you should understand that you will be on your feet for the entirety of your shift. Here are the minimum qualifications of this job:
- You are 18 years of age or older
- You will be required to work on weekends, holidays as well as off shift
- You can lift 15 to 50 pounds with or without a reasonable accommodation
- You can stand and walk for extended periods of time with or without a reasonable accommodation
- You can climb, bend, reach, stoop, kneel, and stretch for extended periods with or without a reasonable accommodation
- You can repeatedly lift, carry, push, pull, and handle products with or without a reasonable accommodation
- You are willing and able to work at heights using ladders or lifts to access areas of the plant
- You are willing and able to work in an environment that has extreme temperatures, humidity, hazardous/loud equipment, and slippery surfaces
While the minimum qualifications are all you need to apply, top candidates will also have:
- One year of experience operating a forklift or using equipment in a manufacturing/warehouse environment
