Position Description
We are looking for an Interior Designer to join our growing team! This is a full-time position at our southeast Lincoln location. This position will work with the Lead Designer and the Design Director on all projects as a team. Quality service to our clients and customers is of high importance. This role will be great for you if you are creative, organized, have a great attention to detail, and enjoy communication with vendors, contractors, and clients!

Full-time, 40 hours/week
Monday - Friday 8:00 to 4:30, 30-minute lunch. Saturday hours if requested in advance by clients.

Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design - Required
2-3 years of design experience - Required
Experience with trade furniture brands and pricing - Strongly Preferred
Experience in furniture & fabric selections, window treatments, and styling – Strongly Preferred
Skills and Abilities
Positive attitude and willingness to learn new processes
Strong customer service and communication skills
Ability to handle multiple project details and meet project deadlines
Strong basic math skills
Organized and good computer skills
Proficiency in software such as Chief Architect, AutoCAD, Sketch Up, Photoshop/Canva
Must be a self-starter, confident, authentic, and approachable
Willing to help where needed!
Additional Information
Fritz Lloyd designers have an active role in all stages of the design process. This includes meetings at showrooms, job sites, and the studio. To do this, candidates must be able to travel locally and conduct meetings in varying temperatures and site conditions, with safety top of mind. Conducting off-site meetings can require transportation of merchandise and finish samples. A candidate must be able to be on their feet and lift/carry these items. The Interior Designer position also includes computer work/desk work. A candidate must be able to sit and operate a computer for sometimes extended periods of time. On occasion, travel may be required – to surrounding areas for client meetings or product sourcing – and may run outside of standard business hours. Out-of-state market trips will require several days away with overnight stays and will be scheduled with advanced notice. Interior Design positions may require some Saturday hours, with flex time during the week.
Job Description
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Field measure, photograph, and document new sites
- Complete existing plans and develop design options in Chief Architect or AutoCAD
- Concept development using imagery, client directed or from scratch
- Work with Interior Design team to develop design solutions from concept to completion
- Space planning – concept, schematic, development, furniture
- Interior and exterior detail development using elevations & 3D’s as needed, Chief Architect/SketchUp
- Sourcing/Development/Selection of all interior elements as needed for project scope, including construction finishes (tile, carpet, countertops, etc.), fixtures, furniture, and décor with style & budget in mind
- Prepare, present and/or participate in client presentations – typically including printed drawings, physical samples, and visual presentations
- Meeting Notes and documentation following all client, builder, vendor meetings
- Show excellent customer service, communication, and organizational skills
- Follow industry trends, evolutions, and best practices
- Correspond with the builder or contractor on job and be the liaison for everyone involved on the project.
- Keep up with contractor scheduling and due dates for information
- Conduct job site visits to check status of work, review with contractors, report back to team as needed
- Prepare pricing, proposals and budgets as needed and present to clients
- Produce finish schedules & spec packets for contractors
- Prepare for & assist with installation of furniture, art, accessories
- Style homes with accessories and décor
- Hang medium to smaller size art
- Help retail customers with selection and sales in retail boutique
- Help with Refile/Organize in resource library
- Greet clients as needed
- Help answer phones as needed
