Accountant

Position Summary:

The Accountant is responsible for the helping drive adherence to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and a strong control environment. This position will assist in developing the appropriate strategies and processes in coordination with the manager of the business division and the financial accounting department of the Fritz Winter group. The position will assist in the full-cycle accounting process including but not limited to, month end close, accounts payable, accounts receivable, taxes, assets, project accounting, cash management, inventory monitoring and financial reporting. This position will report to the business unit Controller.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Assist with financial statement preparation to summarize company’s financial status.

· Assist with managing fixed assets and other CAPEX related activities.

· Assists with inventory management as it impacts the financial health of the organization.

· Assist with inventory cycle and physical count processes and reconciliation.

· Assists with accounting, auditing, forecasting and budgeting within the organization.

· Prepares and reviews journal entries.

· Provide support during audits and field examinations.

· Reconciliation of general ledger in order to detect, prevent, and correct accounting inaccuracies or imbalances.

· Ensures compliance with and prepares reports according to applicable government regulations.

· Ensures compliance with internal Quality Management and/or safety protocols as required.

· Coordinates the monthly, quarterly and annual close functions, ensuring that all transactions are booked in a timely manner.

· Practice professionalism and confidentiality when exposed to sensitive information.

· Uses accounting software to maintain records and prepare reports.

· Delegates accounting tasks to junior accounting staff as needed.

· Coordinates with and prepares reports for Controller.

· Contributes to team efforts by accomplishing related tasks as needed.

· Perform other projects or duties as assigned.

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:

· Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance (master’s preferred with preference given to finance majors)

· At least 3 years’ experience in accounting and/or finance

· CPA or CMA preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
