What are the responsibilities and job description for the Machining Quality Technician - 2nd shift position at Fritz Winter North America LP?
Position Summary:
The Quality Tech position is responsible for work on the production floor to monitor, provide surveillance and reinforce quality tasks perform during production as well as in the Quality Laboratory performing part measurements using different pieces of equipment, e.g. Coordinate Measuring Machine. Responsible for routine line checks
and product sampling to confirm checks by operator are completed to specification.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Monitor inspections and tasks completed by production operators
· Assist as a first level responder to quality concerns
· Work with operators, team leader and supervisor to ensure quality of parts produced
· Gather and analyze statistical data for process control
· Promote awareness of customer requirements
· Use Calipers and gages in order to measure and confirm parts meet specifications
· Perform measurements using automatic measuring machines
· Evaluate parts against drawing
· Assist with problem solving / RCA as required
· Support QM, Quality Engineer, PPAP activities as required
· Use computer and general knowledge of Microsoft Office, etc.
· Effectively coach and counsel and other administrative tasks as assigned
· Focused and committed efforts toward sustainable development
· Assure 100% compliance with safety regulations within the department
· Assist in other duties as assigned
Education and/or Experience:
· High School Diploma or GED
· Experience in manufacturing in a technical capacity preferred
· Foundry knowledge preferred

· Ability to read a drawing / blue print
· Highly collaborative team player
· Organized self-starter, highly-motivated, goal-oriented
· Ability to work independently when required
· Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
· Excellent oral and written communication skills
· Ability to communicate in German a plus
Physical Requirements:
· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
· The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.
· The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 30 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
