What are the responsibilities and job description for the Service Repair Technician position at Froedge Machine & Supply Co?
We are seeking a skilled and motivated individual for a fast-paced position within our service department. The ideal candidate is someone with a mechanical background, with some experience in one or more of industrial maintenance, parts research, electronics, hydraulics, welding or automotive repair. Those with experience in areas such as agriculture are also encouraged to apply. Our service department deals with a highly diverse set of jobs - work here will offer a lot of varied experience while strengthening your mechanical and technical skills. The ideal candidate is willing to learn a lot, ask questions, and dig into problems to pin down an answer.
Responsibilities:
- Install, repair, service, test and troubleshoot equipment
- Plan repair work using blueprints and technical manuals
- Communicate with customers about the status of their work requests
- Collaborate with colleagues on the best route forward in solving a given problem
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Mechanical or technical background
- Ability to follow instructions from supervisors and collaborate on problems
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools. Some equipment provided, though must provide own hand tools
- Prolonged periods standing and walking; Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces; Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time.
