Job Summary:
The Cancer Center I Technician is an essential member of the patient-centered cancer healthcare team. This individual, under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurses provides delegated age appropriate care in a culturally and ethnically sensitive manner. Contributes to patient care by assisting with tasks outlined in their clinical competency assessment related to vital signs, performing blood draws, maintaining the environment of care, managing supply inventory, and/or assisting providers and other members of the Cancer Center interdisciplinary care team to enhance the patient care experience.
EDUCATION DESCRIPTION:
High School Diploma or GED is required. One of the following is also required:
American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Providers (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent within 90 days of hire is required.

- Completion of an CAAHEP or ABHES accredited Medical Assistant Program, or
- State of Wisconsin Nursing Assistant Certification or 5 years ambulatory experience, or
- Completion of an Emergency Medical Technician program or 3 years of EMT experience, or
- Currently enrolled in nursing program and able to provide documentation from an accredited school for professional nurses indicating successful completion of the basic nursing course which encompass all of the criteria noted by the State of Wisconsin administrative code and a minimum experience of one acute care medical/surgical rotation.
