Location: US:WI:MILWAUKEE at our FROEDTERT HOSPITAL facility.
This job is HYBRID.
FTE: 1.000000 (approx 40 hours a week)
Shift: Shift 2 (may qualify for shift differential)
Job Summary:
Under the direct supervision of the HIM Manager or Supervisor, this person coordinates the processes/workflows of assigned areas and assists with optimal use of the EHR systems pertinent to these functions. Coordinates the workflow in scanning including prep, scanning, quality assurance record destruction and data abstraction. From an operational perspective, assists with testing, workflow design and building test scripts for third party scanning software. Assists with reporting needs, training and staff development, and team building as needed. Requires excellent communication skills to work with physicians and clinic management to ensure records are scanned in a timely manner. Requires a high level of organizational skills to coordinate and implement efficient work flows for the imaging team. Ability to adapt to changes and be a change agent with the HIM Department. Other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION:
Three to five years experience in and HIM department in an acute care facility is required. Previous scanning/abstracting experience is preferred.
EDUCATION DESCRIPTION:
High School diploma or equivalent is required. Associate's degree in HIM is preferred.
LICENSURE DESCRIPTION:
RHIT and active membership in the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) is preferred, with ongoing completion of current continuing education requirements.
