Job Summary:
The Echocardiographer is responsible for performing transthoracic echocardiograms, setting up and assisting with Transesophageal Echocardiograms and setting up and performing exercise and Dobutamine Stress Echocardiograms, to the standards set forth by the American Society of Echocardiography and Froedtert Hospital. This individual demonstrates increasing competency in delivery of care to a primarily adult population. Other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION:
Three years experience as an adult Cardiac Sonographer is required.
EDUCATION DESCRIPTION:
Completion of a two-year Allied Health degree and successful completion of a 12-month CAAHEP approved School of Ultrasound Technology, or Cardiovascular Technology, or equivalent education. Work requires sufficient education/training to acquire American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) certification in cardiac ultrasound, Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS), or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS).
LICENSURE DESCRIPTION:
RDCS or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International, or completion of RDCS/RCS is required. American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire.
