Who we are looking for:
This position will carry out a variety of physical tasks to include properly performing, recording and reporting the results of basic laboratory procedures for soils (for compaction, particle size, quality, and chemical composition) using a variety of specialized equipment including nuclear soils density gauge, scales, meters, or other apparatus.
What you’ll be doing:
- Performing basic laboratory tests on soil and preparing reports of results
- Maintaining a log of all samples
- Apply basic mathematical formulas and concepts to calculate quantities, estimate volumes, and inspect constructed work
- Entering test results into a web-based computer program
- Calibrating and maintaining laboratory equipment
- Communicating with clients, contractors, engineers and technicians regarding construction laboratory testing
- Other duties as assigned
What you need to have:
- 1 years of relevant experience
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- ACI Level I Concrete, state DOT, or ICC certifications in soils highly desired
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
- Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams to achieve goals
- Excellent attention to details
- Valid driver’s license and good-standing driving record
- Some travel will be required
- Must be willing to participate in and pass F&R’s pre-employment screening including a background investigation, drug screening and driving record
