Who we are looking for :
The CMT Engineer will apply standard engineering and project management techniques to provide construction materials testing and special inspection services under the supervision of experienced engineers and project managers. This may include performing field observations and inspections; communicating with and mentoring engineering technicians and inspectors; meeting with clients and contractors; review of project plans and specifications, and the preparation and review of reports for services provided.
What you'll be doing :
- Review project plans, drawings, specifications, reports and other project data
- Maintains project budgets, record keeping, materials testing, and inspections
- Communicates with other engineers, technicians, special inspectors, administrative personnel, sub-consultants and contractors
- Prepares and reviews technical reports and letters
- Satisfies multiple and unrelated deadlines
- May supervise and direct engineering technicians, special inspectors and subcontractors
- Performs field observations and site visits. Field work will include meeting with F&R employees, clients and contractors to assess construction status and progress. Prepare field reports for all site visits and meetings
- Perform field testing and inspecting of soil, foundations, concrete, asphalt, and other construction materials at locations across our service area
- Review field reports prepared by technicians and inspectors
- Ensures project reports are completed and submitted timely
- Ensures accuracy for all items related to billing for projects
- Maintains excellent client relations by responding promptly, etc.
- Provides input relative to needs of client to Project Manager
- Other duties as assigned
