What are the responsibilities and job description for the Preschool Teacher position at Frog Academy Preschool & Daycare?
Do you have a ton of patience, a great sense of humor, and the ability to stay calm in the middle of chaos? If so, you might be the perfect fit for our preschool team!
What You’ll Do:
- Be a Leader in a Room Full of Busy Children: Preschoolers are energetic, loud, and often testing limits. You’ll need to help them maintain a schedule and navigate their day, all while staying calm, kind, and in control.
- Navigate Big Feelings: Many young children struggle with emotional regulation, and some may have undiagnosed disabilities that make following directions or transitioning between activities a challenge. You’ll need the patience and skills to help them feel safe, loved, and supported, even on difficult days.
- Assist with Personal Care Needs: You’ll be helping children with potty training, diaper changes, and general hygiene throughout the day.
- Keep the Classroom Clean & Safe: You are responsible for keeping toys, furniture, and play areas clean and in good condition.
- Encourage Learning Through Play: Preschoolers learn best when they are engaged and having fun. You’ll be guiding them through structured activities that support their development. (Lesson plans are already made for you!)
- Work Independently: You’ll need to be comfortable making decisions, keeping things running smoothly, and handling challenges on your own.
What We’re Looking For:
- Someone who understands that preschoolers can be a handful and is ready to meet that challenge with patience and a positive attitude.
- The ability to remain calm and caring, even when children are defiant, overstimulated, or having a meltdown.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think on your feet.
- A kind and nurturing personality that helps children feel safe and welcome, no matter what challenges they may have.
- A willingness to step in and help with all aspects of the classroom, from teaching to cleaning to handling potty needs.
If you love children, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and want to make a difference in young lives, we’d love to have you join our team!
