ROLE OVERVIEW
The Director of Product, Data & Insights will focus on ensuring the integrity, scalability, and strategic utilization of our data while identifying and implementing opportunities for data science, business intelligence, and actionable insights.
The Director will work closely with the VP of Digital Product and Strategy to execute the company's vision and strategy. This person will need to operate at a high level, designing and delivering strategic solutions for data management, analytics, and reporting. Simultaneously, the role will require a hands-on approach-digging into the data, building dashboards, structuring schemas, and driving insights that inform product and business decisions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Data Strategy and Execution:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive data strategy to ensure data integrity, structure, and scalability across platforms.
- Own and manage the company's standards alignment, skills spine, and curriculum correlations, ensuring they are accurate, well-organized, and effectively leveraged.
- Identify opportunities for data science, business intelligence (BI), and reporting to drive product innovation and decision-making.
- Oversee data governance initiatives, including maintenance of data catalogs, dictionaries, and semantic modeling.
- Insights and Analytics:
- Analyze and interpret complex datasets to deliver actionable insights that inform product development, user engagement, and business growth.
- Build and maintain dashboards, schemas, and reports to monitor key metrics, trends, and opportunities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data-driven decision-making is embedded across product, curriculum, and business teams.
- Oversee user research and product analytics initiatives, including development of KPIs and creation of summative reporting for stakeholders and customers.
- Maintain reporting inventory; establish and monitor feedback loops with report stakeholders.
- Leadership and Collaboration:
- Lead data-related projects and initiatives, ensuring alignment with company goals and user needs.
- Develop and maintain policies, templates, and practices for reporting and data visualization standards.
- Act as a strategic thought partner to the VP of Digital Product and Strategy to shape future opportunities and ensure product direction aligns with the company vision.
- Balance high-level strategic thinking with the ability to "roll up your sleeves" and dive into the technical details.
- Operational Excellence:
- Ensure the organization's data infrastructure and pipelines are well-structured, reliable, and scalable.
- Implement best practices for data governance, quality assurance, and compliance.
- Continuously identify and address gaps in data systems, workflows, and analytics capabilities.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 7 years of experience in product management, data strategy, data science, or business intelligence roles, with at least 2 years in leadership/strategic positions.
- Experience in EdTech, early education, and/or K-12 required.
- Strong expertise in data analysis, dashboard development, and data modeling using tools such as SQL, Python, Tableau, Looker, or similar platforms.
- Experience designing and implementing scalable data architectures and schemas.
- Proven track record of leveraging data and insights to inform product strategies, user engagement, and business growth.
- Ability to think strategically while maintaining a hands-on approach to execution.
- Exceptional collaboration and leadership skills, with the ability to communicate complex data concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience in the education technology or curriculum space is a strong plus.
