What are the responsibilities and job description for the (1st Shift) Meat Room Operator position at Fromm Family Foods?
Fromm Family Foods, LLC. Columbus Facility is hiring for a Meat Room Operator. We produce super premium dry dog and cat food and are looking for a full-time permanent employee to join our team! This is an entry level position, with great opportunities for advancement for an employee who shows the desire to learn and take on more responsibility resulting in greater pay opportunities.

Essential tasks:
1. Determine the amounts of meat needed for each batch of meat to be ground.
2. Safely operate forklift and other material handling equipment.
3. Physically separate frozen blocks with power and/or hand tools and manually set on conveyor for grinding.
4. Maintain good housekeeping practices and keep area around assigned work area clean, orderly, and free from clutter.
5. Use pressure washer to clean and sanitize equipment per sanitation standard operating procedures.
6. Throw trash and cardboard away as needed and operate compactor.
7. Abide by all safety rules and company policies.
The physical requirements of this role requires lifting up to 60# on a continuous basis from floor level to conveyor level (up to 48"). Job requires to be able to Bend, Push/Pull, Squat, Reach, Grip, Grab and Hold various products, packaging items and tools. Some tasks will be repetitive.
The ability to stand for duration of shift, climb ladders and work at an elevated level.
Our production environment varies in temperature including heat, humidity and cold. Pet food product production produces various production smells.
Able to perform basic math calculations (add, subtract, multiply, and divide)
Basic visual requirements of read small print and differentiate colors.
Understand and communicate basic verbal and written instructions and respond to questions.
