Turfgrass Specialist

Front & Center Turf is looking for a dedicated Turf Specialist to join our team. This role focuses on maintaining high-quality athletic fields, including mowing, irrigation control, turf care, and detailed reporting. Additionally, the Turf Specialist will assist with light golf course reel mower maintenance (minimal) and help keep our equipment, trucks, trailers, and facility in top condition. There may also be opportunities to support our lawn care operations over time.

Key Responsibilities:

• Athletic Field Maintenance – Mow, trim, and care for natural turf athletic fields with precision, ensuring professional-grade field aesthetics and performance.
• Irrigation & Turf Health – Monitor irrigation systems, adjust as needed, and report turf conditions to ensure peak playability.
• Equipment Operation & Care – Safely operate and transport reel and rotary mowers using company trucks and enclosed trailers. May travel 100-200 miles per day to each site.
• Basic Mechanical Work – Perform light maintenance on golf course reel mowers (minimal) and assist with general upkeep of trucks, trailers, and small equipment.
• Facility & Grounds Maintenance – Help maintain our shop, grounds, and fleet to ensure smooth operations.
• Reporting & Communication – Document field conditions, equipment status, and any issues requiring attention.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

• IMPECABLE DRIVING RECORD!
• Prior experience mowing athletic fields with golf course reel mowers and executing detailed mowing patterns is highly desirable.
• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to high-quality turf care.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and problem-solving mindset.
• Comfortable driving a truck while towing an enclosed trailer.
• Clean driving record (required).
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week

Experience:

• Golf course mainteance: 2 years (Preferred)
• Truck and trailer driving: 2 years (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• Pesticide Applicator’s License (Preferred)
• Driver's License (Required)

Ability to Commute:

• Mansfield, OH 44905 (Required)
