We are currently looking for a Project Manager/Claims Analyst to work with a large State Agency on various construction projects, based out of Albany, NY.
Travel may be required to monitor multiple projects.
Position Scope
A Project Manager in the Claims group is needed to facilitate the processing of delay claims across portfolio statewide. This is a Statewide position and not limited to one geographic location. The candidate will work in the claims department, analyzing delayed claims brought against the State within a geographic region. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the workload within the geographic region assigned to them independently and think critically to make contractual decisions.
Daily Task
- Perform review, interpret, and perform complex schedule analysis using P6.
- Review Contractor’s notice of claim in accordance with the Contract, determine validity.
- Day-to-day tracking, review, and management of delay claims assigned to the successful candidate.
- Audit contractor’s claim costs, including certified payrolls and invoices and negotiate settlements with Contractors.
- Host fact finding meetings for claims with design and construction staff to facilitate the review of claims.
- Review project history to assist in forensic delay analysis, including meeting minutes, schedules, and correspondence.
- Report on high priority projects and problem projects to the executive staff monthly, or as frequencies needed.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field, OR Associates degree with Two years’ experience in similar position, OR Four years’ experience in a similar position.
Candidate must be well versed in Construction Schedules, Schedule Analysis, and Time Impact Analysis.
Previous experience must include Contract, Project Management and Scheduling experience.
Estimating experience preferred, but not required.
Demonstrated ability to read and comprehend plans, specifications, addenda, bid materials, contracts and related construction documents.
Excellent oral and written communications skills.
Demonstrated analytical and conceptual skills.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
Proficiency in PC applications, such as Outlook, Excel, Word, and Bluebeam
Demonstrated ability to lead and/or participate in team endeavors.
Demonstrated record of taking initiative.
Demonstrated management skills.
Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to prioritize.
Strong interpersonal and diplomacy skills.
OSHA 30hr Certified
Physical Demands:
Requires exposure to weather and temperature extremes, loud noises, heights (climbing ladders, scaffolding, etc.) and other work-safety hazards (chemicals, fumes, etc.) of a construction site. May require time-pressured decision-making.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $125,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year
