We are currently looking for a Project Safety Manager to assist DASNY on their active construction projects.
This position will be based out of a field office near Orangeburg, NY.
Position Scope
To support the safety initiative, an inspector is needed to provide services to all client projects in the region. This position will be based out of the Regional office located near Pearl River, NY but will largely be a transient field position that will require frequent visits to all field offices and project locations.
The Safety Manager will support the agency by assisting with the operations of the construction site, during all phases. The Safety Manager will also be expected to ensure all of the various safety requirements in the Building Code and OSHA are followed. This requires the Safety Manager to work with the contracting community.
Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Onsite inspection, Site-specific safety plan review, and technical safety assistance for client projects in Rockland, Orange, New York and Richmond Counties.
- Ensure safety compliance, including creating and approving site-specific safety plans.
- Conduct safety stand-downs and manage emergencies.
- Performing and processing of submittals.
- Authoring and performing Root Cause Analysis forms.
- Allocate resources for assigned projects.
- Supervise onsite personnel and subcontractors.
- Prepare safety presentations.
- Research additional safety and continuing education opportunities.
- Interface with project inspectors, contractors, architects, engineers, city and county officials, and client.
- Ensure Local, State, OSHA Regulations, and Safety standards are enforced.
- Maintain various EAD devices throughout the region ensuring they are inspected or replaced as necessary.
Required Qualifications
Bachelors Degree
The candidate requires 6 years of experience with safety inspections in commercial construction.
A minimum of 4 years of experience on-site Safety Manager on large-scale commercial building projects.
Safety Training/Knowledge
Must be able to communicate clearly both verbally and in written correspondence.
OSHA 30 Certification Required
Excellent leadership skills
Understanding all facets of the construction process
Must be willing to commute in your own vehicle to project sites as needed.
Preferred Skills and Experience
3 years of experience working on public contracts and public agencies
Experience with the Public Agencies/Contracts
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $110,000.00 - $116,000.00 per year
