Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dental Assistant to join Front Range Dental Center in Fort Collins, Colorado. Key Responsibilities:
Patient Care:
- Prepare patients for dental procedures, ensuring their comfort and addressing any concerns.
- Chairside Assistance: Assist dentists during examinations and treatments by passing instruments, operating suction devices, and managing other equipment.
- Instrument Sterilization: Clean and sterilize dental instruments and equipment in compliance with infection control protocols.
Radiography:
- Take and develop dental X-rays as directed by the dentist.
Recordkeeping:
- Accurately document patient dental histories, treatment plans, and procedures performed.
Appointment Scheduling:
- Manage patient appointments and follow-up visits to optimize the clinic's schedule.
Inventory Management:
- Monitor and order dental supplies to ensure the availability of necessary materials.
Patient Education:
- Provide patients with oral hygiene instructions and post-operative care guidelines.
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent; graduation from an accredited dental assisting program is preferred.
Experience:
- At least 2 years of experience as a dental assistant is preferred, but not required.
- Experience in a multi-doctor practice is preferred.
- Experience using Eaglesoft, scheduling, HIPAA best practices, preferred.
- Strong understanding of dental insurance, treatment plan presentation, and attention to detail in insurance verification
- Experience in financial-oriented tasks, preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Certifications: Current X-Ray Certification is required. Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification is preferred.
Work Environment:
The dental assistant will work in a clinical setting, requiring the use of standard dental equipment. The role may involve standing for extended periods and exposure to dental materials and substances.
