SUMMARY: Job performance will encompass all aspects of the company’s Mission Statement including, striving to establish a successful partnership with residents, agencies and other service providers to attain the highest level of outcome-based care.

NURSING PROGRAM/DEVELOPMENT AND IMPLEMENTATION
- Responsible for nursing development, implementation and evaluation.
- Develop rapport with residents. Be knowledgeable about responsive to residents’ goals and needs.
- Attend and participate in various in-house meetings as requested by Director.
- Provide input into the development and implementation of the residents’ care plans.
- Review, update and implement policies and procedures related to nursing needs.
- Participate in county case conferences, team planning, physician meetings, staff meetings, family conferences as needed.
- Performs other duties that may be required.
ADMINISTRATION/MANAGEMENT DUTIES
- Maintain nursing services in accordance with Title 9 regulations, the California Nurse Practice Act and the facility’s policy and procedures.
- Review admission referral packets for residents with medical diagnoses.
- Responds to safety and health emergencies.
- Communicates the needs of residents to physicians.
- Direct supervision of Nursing Department Manager, Medical Records and Phlebotomy.
- Conducts the hiring of qualified staff, develops and maintains duty guidelines for Nursing, Medical Records and Phlebotomy.
- Attend and present at quarterly CQI meetings.
- Participate in quarterly Safety Committee Meetings.
- Maintain department according to budgetary guidelines while achieving desired goals. Assure that arrangements are made as needed for interpreters or the use of other mechanisms to ensure adequate communication between residents and personnel where language or communication barriers exist.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Current licensure as RN in state of practice.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Minimum two (2) years’ experience in nursing supervision.
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing or health related field preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Read, speak and understand English with enough ability to read, analyze, and interpret the regulations and requirements for managing mental health rehabilitation centers.
Ability to effectively write and present information and respond to questions from managers, residents, customers and the public with awareness of multi-cultural considerations.
SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, proportions, and percentages associated with completing the requirements of the position.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram.
- Must have adequate computer skills to utilize e-mail and word processing programs.
- Must demonstrate cultural competence.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must be fingerprinted and cleared by the Department of Justice and/or FBI. If fingerprints are not cleared, the job is rescinded.
- Valid California Driver’s License and approval from the Company’s vehicle insurance provider if required to drive.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Employee must be in good health, physically, mentally, and occupationally capable of performing assigned tasks per Title 9 regulations.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
- Job requires working with hazardous caustic household cleaning chemicals.
- Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.
- During the course of the job, the employee will be exposed to secondhand smoke.
- During the course of the job, the employee will be interacting on a daily basis with individuals with a diagnosed mental illness.
Salary : $160,000 - $200,000
