What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lab Technician - Genetic Toxicology position at Frontage Laboratories?
This position will provide technical support for performing standard genetic toxicology assays to include, but not limited to cell-based, bacterial reverse mutation, rodent bone marrow and blood-based micronucleus, as well as other in vitro and in vivo-related activities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Follow protocols and SOPs to perform assigned tasks
- Maintain the laboratory in a 5S neat, clean, and organized manner
- Perform routine laboratory stock inventory
- Performing standard microbiological procedures such as bacterial inoculation, density determination, plating, counting colonies using automated colony counter
- Conducting cell-based assays and maintaining mammalian cell lines
- Accurately record observations and document results in accordance with GLP guideline and departmental SOPs
- Maintain study records
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Self-motivated, detail oriented, and follow provided instructions, protocols, SOPs
- Familiarity with basic laboratory techniques and equipment
- Strong pipetting skills
- Basic math skills to perform routine calculations
- Have a good understanding of Microsoft Excel
The ideal candidate will be a motivated team player with excellent writing and oral communication skills, and strong problem-solving capabilities. Previous experience working in a laboratory setting is a plus but not required.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in biology, microbiology, chemistry or other related field. Equivalent experience will be also considered.
