Job Summary
The LPC will perform the diagnosis and treatment of mental and emotional disorders, including addictive disorders; psychoeducational techniques aimed at the prevention of such disorders; consultation to individuals, couples, families, groups, and organizations; and research into more effective therapeutic treatment modalities.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Provides clinical services.
a. Maintains clinical expertise and competency (to include age specific competency) as well as demonstrates thorough knowledge of procedures to deliver quality behavioral health care.
b. Provides direct patient care in scheduled clinic sessions, at each assigned clinic, including extended hours.
c. Examines, diagnoses, treats and/or refers patients to specialty care services, as needed.
d. Provides continuity of care to clinic patients on his or her patient panel and other patients as assigned.
e. Maintains a behavioral health record for each patient seen in accordance with the Center’s established Health Information Management policies and procedures to include providing appropriate and legible documentation.
f. Ensures that patient receives psychoeducation regarding diagnosis and the plan of care.
g. Provider will be familiar with PCMH Standards and work as a part of the Medical team to perform Patient Centered Care.
2. Maintains professional courtesy at all times.
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Required
• Knowledge of Center’s policies and procedures and an ability to obtain specific knowledge of the Center’s current operational protocols
• Knowledge of medical terminology and appropriate use of approved abbreviations
• Ability to document, with clarity, all information relevant to a patient’s needs
• Ability to effectively present mental health issues in small group, to patients, Center staff, and the general public
• Ability to demonstrate use of electronic communication devices, including but not limited to computers, fax machines, telephones and copiers while maintaining HIPPA compliance.
Preferred
• Spanish speaking and writing.
Credentials and Experience
Required
• Master’s or Doctorate Degree and is licensed under the State of Texas
• One (1) year of practice experience as a LPC, performing diagnosis and treatment of mental illness
• Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) for Healthcare
Professionals Certification
Special Requirements
The employee must be able to lift and/or move more than 30 pounds. Requires sitting, standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Flexibility to work under stressful conditions and extended hours, at times.

Salary : $65,000 - $85,000
