Job Title: Contract Dietitian
Location: Peridot, AZ (ONSITE HOUSING AVAILABLE)
Schedule: Part-time or Full-time (4 days per week)
- Day Shift: 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM
- Mid/Evening Shift: As needed
Pay Rate: $43 - $55 per hour
Contract Length: 4.5 MONTHS
Position Overview:
We are seeking a Registered Dietitian with critical access hospital or tribal experience for a part-time or full-time contract position. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience (preferred), CDCES certification (preferred), and BLS certification (required). This role involves providing Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) for inpatients and outpatients, participating in food service evaluations, and developing patient-centered nutrition plans.
Key Responsibilities: Clinical Nutrition & Patient Care
- Provide Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) for a minimum of 12 patients per day in inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Conduct nutrition assessments, care planning, patient counseling, and follow-ups for disease management and prevention.
- Modify patient profiles based on nutritional needs, intolerances, and preferences.
- Work with medical weight loss and diabetes management patients in outpatient clinics.
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert for high-risk and complex patient cases.
- Participate in interdisciplinary care conferences to collaborate with the medical team on patient care plans.
Food Service & Menu Development
- Conduct food service department evaluations and menu development for patients in a critical access hospital setting.
- Ensure compliance with nutritional guidelines and hospital policies regarding food services.
- Perform quality assurance checks in the food service department.
Education & Community Outreach
- Provide nutrition-related education to patients, families, medical staff, and the general public as needed.
- Deliver in-service education programs for nursing, medical staff, healthcare personnel, and food service employees.
- Prepare reports and documentation to maintain accreditation with regulatory agencies.
Qualifications: Required:
- Registered Dietitian (RD) credential with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
- BLS certification (American Heart Association or equivalent).
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a healthcare facility planning regular and modified diets.
- Experience providing MNT for chronic diseases and nutrition education across the lifespan.
- Completion of a Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD) accredited by ACEND.
Preferred:
- 3 years of experience in clinical nutrition.
- Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) certification.
- Experience working in critical access hospitals and tribal healthcare settings.
- Background in food service evaluation and outpatient clinical nutrition.
