Job Description - Assistant Director / Appointment Coordinator

Supervisor: Director

Schedule: Tuesday Thru Saturday (7:30 to 4:00) or Sunday Thru Thursday (7:30 to 4:00)

Purpose: To oversee the daily operations of Frontier Assisted Living. The Assistant Director is responsible for assisting in maintaining the facility standards according to MT Administrative Code and assures the health, safety and welfare of all residents of Frontier Assisted Living. The Assistant Director supervises the employees and volunteers performing duties within the facility.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements

  • 2 year Caregiver experience
  • Proven experience in supervision
  • Ability to lead a team in a professional manner
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Organized with the ability to multitask in a team environment
  • Computer literate
  • Able to perform duties and responsibilities (Essential Job Functions) with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Driver License

Essential Job Functions

  • Support Director with tasks throughout the building
  • Investigate quality of care issues and all incidents and accidents
  • Answer requests and inquiries regarding possible placement
  • Schedule and conduct tours
  • Assist with pre-admission assessments as needed
  • Assist with admissions and discharges and complete required documentation
  • Assist with Resident records to assure they are current and complete
  • Work along with the Registered Nurse to ensure Resident’s needs are met and care is provided according to the Resident care plan
  • Assist with creating and implementing scheduled diversional activities based on the needs of Residents
  • Assist with ISPs creation and updates with families and involved agencies
  • Assist with Resident’s petty cash funds with periodic audits
  • Assist with facility petty cash funds with periodic audits
  • Coordination of Resident medical and dental appointments and transportation along with accompanying the Resident as needed
  • Assist with updating family or “designated other”, agencies that are involved, physicians, and DPHHS with Resident care and needs
  • Assist to assure ISPs are followed
  • Update staff on changes to Resident care/ISP updates
  • Assist and work with activities, dietary, maintenance, nursing, and care staff
  • Assist as requested with staff injuries and Work Comp related issues
  • Participates in Quality assurance (falls, infections, injury prevention)
  • Monitor and assist with maintaining adequate food, cleaning, office and general supplies
  • Conduct fire drills, evacuations, severe weather and other drills as required per code as requested
  • Assist with employee interviews and new hire procedures as requested
  • Assist to assure that all employee records are current and complete
  • Assist, coordinate and provide new employee orientation as requested
  • Act as a mentor and resource for the Resident Caregivers
  • Maintain professional relationships within organizations
  • Assist, coordinate and track employee continued education
  • Participate in employee evaluations per company policy as requested
  • Assist with employee performance issues
  • Coach employees and perform disciplinary action as requested
  • Assist with scheduling staff and Resident requirements for care needs
  • Assist with staff replacement when there are call ins
  • Assist with staff Medication administration test
  • Assist with general maintenance to coordinate with maintenance director as needed
  • Attend meetings and in-services as scheduled or assigned
  • Assist with coordinating and holding routine staff meetings/in-house training as required per code
  • Provide direct care to Residents on a schedule and on-call status
  • Monitor employee morale, maintaining a high level of team spirit and unit cohesion
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and company policies
  • Manage turnover
  • Additional duties as directed by the Director

Pay: $22.00 per hour
