What are the responsibilities and job description for the ARNP - Inpatient Medical PRN position at Frontier Behavioral Health?

As an Inpatient Medical ARNP you will performs medical assessments, evaluates and treats non-psychiatric conditions, orders appropriate medications, laboratory studies, and imaging, and prescribes accordingly and as licensed by law.
The Medical ARNP, in conjunction with the treatment team, participates in the development of treatment plans as needed, including reviewing cases with the treatment teams to ensure patient care is delivered in an evidence-based, trauma-informed manner. Case consultation with other FBH staff, residential providers, and families is provided upon request.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES includes but are not limited to the following:
Provide medical assessment for admitted clients, ordering tests, prescribing medication, and discharging to higher level of medical care if indicated.
Review history, chart notes and available information related to potential admissions, when requested, and determine if medical needs are within the level of care provided at FBH’s inpatient setting.
Provide patient education pertaining to medical diagnosis and medication treatment regime.
Select, prescribe, and monitor non-psychiatric medications.
Consult with the Associate or Chief Medical Director regularly and on clinically complicated cases.
Collaborate and consult with treatment team to ensure a holistic approach to care.
Keep supervisor informed of daily activities and any potential problems in a timely manner.
Utilize concurrent documentation in FBH’s electronic medical record whenever feasible to enhance patient participation and provider productivity.
Ensure documentation in the client record is accurate, clear and timely.
Maintain high quality clinical care through participation in utilization review and peer review as designated.
Coordinate with primary health care provider, and facilitate referrals to primary health care physicians, as appropriate.
Participate in professional offerings and continuing education in pharmacology to maintain license and remain current in the field.
QUALIFIED CANDIDATES WILL HAVE:
REQUIRED:
Washington State ARNP License with prescriptive authority
ANCC Board Certification:
Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-BC) or
Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (AGPCNP-BC) or
Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP-BC)
DEA license
Must be qualified to be credentialed with insurance companies
PREFERRED:
Experience in community-based behavioral healthcare
Experience in an inpatient setting

Work is generally performed in an office setting which may involve sitting and use of computers for four to eight hours per day.
May be required to lift 10 - 20 pounds.
Work may be performed out of office and travel may be needed to outside areas.
Blood-borne Pathogen Category I - Chance of exposure to blood-borne pathogens.
Pay for this position will vary depending on the hours worked as indicated below:
If a total of 5 or more hours worked in a day: Pay is issued at a daily rate of $706.00.
If less than 5 hours are worked in a day: Pay is issued at $117.00 per hour.
This position is not eligible for benefits or sign on bonus.
