New Journeys (NJ) is a voluntary, intensive early intervention program that provides coordinated specialty care for individuals experiencing their first episode of psychosis. A small interdisciplinary program works with individuals and their natural supports to assist participants in achieving optimal functioning in home, school, work, social and leisure areas of their life. The NJ Team provides individual resilience training/individual training (IRT), education and employment support, family support and education, peer support, case management, and medication management. Treatment can involve multiple contacts per week with the individual and/or natural supports, and can occur in the office, community, or in the individual’s home. Enrollment in New Journeys can last up to two years with the goal that individuals are in the recovery phase of psychosis and confident in their abilities to live a fulfilling, meaningful life upon graduation.

The Mental Health Clinician will provide trauma-informed, person-centered, evidence-based therapy to clients served within an FBH outpatient program. Participate in a multidisciplinary team by providing therapeutic interventions, writing and implement recovery care plans, provide client education, advocate on behalf of clients and conduct risk assessments while measuring client progress toward established goals and objectives in virtual, office, or community-based settings.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide episodic, trauma-informed, person-centered therapy utilizing evidence-based practices.

  • Maintain client records and all other required documentation in a timely and confidential manner, in accordance with agency policies and practices.

  • Conduct risk assessments, develop and implement safety plans, and provide crisis intervention and stabilization services as needed, including facilitating access to inpatient facilities for behavioral health care.

  • Facilitate and co-facilitate client treatment groups. 

  • Represent the agency and its services to the community in a positive and professional manner.

  • Participate in required staff meetings, including regular supervision and weekly clinical staff meetings.

  • Participate in any required training, consultation calls, and onsite visits or reviews when required by contract.

  • Accept delegation and follow through with specific expanded assignments and responsibilities within FBH system such as quality improvements teams, task groups, committees, consultations, mentoring or training responsibilities.

  • Establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with clinical, administrative and support staff, community partners, clients, and family/natural supports.

  • Include the client’s support network and applicable involved community partners in treatment and any applicable care coordination.

  • Coordinate with treatment team regarding treatment progress and discharge planning and operate as a member of multi-disciplinary team providing services in the community, virtually, and clinical setting in compliance with any treatment models.

  • Develop and implement care plans with measurable objectives and obtainable goals, in collaboration with the client, evaluating client’s progress and adjusting as needed.

  • Meet productivity standards in accordance with agency program guidelines.

  • Comply with all state WAC requirements and FBH policies and procedures

  • Perform FBH charting requirements, correspondence, Workday, and other paperwork in a complete and timely manner.

  • May be assigned to supervise interns.

  • Maintain professional credentials, including continuing education as applicable.

  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFIED APPLICANTS WILL HAVE:

REQUIRED:

  • Master's degree in psychology, counseling, social work or related field from accredited college or university.

  • Must apply for Counselor Agency Affiliation - Registered within 30 days of hire.

PREFERRED:

  • Two years of experience providing clinical behavioral health services.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of service delivery models including groups, skills training, brief/focused therapy, community-based intervention for children and/or adults with serious and persistent mental health diagnoses.

  • Knowledge of Washington Administrative Codes and statutes pertaining to the treatment and delivery of mental health services.

  • Knowledge of and experience providing evidence-based psychotherapy modalities.

  • Ability to communicate and engage effectively with individuals of varied backgrounds, traumatic experiences, cultures, education level and socio-economic status.

  • Requires some travel between work sites or to see clients in the community. Clinicians working in such positions must have reliable transportation, insurance and an active driver’s license and be willing to use personal vehicle in the course of work.

  • This position provided client services in-office and within the community at large on a occasional to frequent basis. Community settings include but are not limited to residences, group/congregate living settings, hospitals, shelters, the streets or anywhere in the community at large.

  • Some environments may not be ideal in terms of cleanliness or being habitable.

  • Occasional frequent travel between locations is required.

  • The ability to drive a vehicle, traverse distances up to several city blocks and on various terrains, navigate stairs, get in and out of vehicles frequently is required.

  • Daily use of a computer is required.

  • May be required to lift 10 - 20 pounds. 

  • Blood-borne Pathogen Category III - No predictable exposure to blood-borne pathogens.

PAY RANGE (Hourly/ Non-Exempt):*

Mental Health Clinician II - No Licensure: $31.84 - $38.79

Mental Health Clinician III - Licensure: $33.70 - $41.06

 

*All pay is based on longevity at Frontier Behavioral Health; thus the starting pay for this position is as follows:

Mental Health Clinician II - No Licensure: $31.84 per hour.

Mental Health Clinician III - Licensure: $33.70 per hour.
