We are now hiring for a Nutrition Advisor for our Columbus, NE location. This position is being offered as full-time with benefits.
The Nutrition Advisor will directly report to the Lead in Nutrition Sales. This position will promote the sales of products and services under our feed business unit, which will most benefit the customer-owners, and to establish creditability through communication in a manner that will optimize the cooperative’s market share and savings, improve the cooperative’s efficiency, help achieve the cooperative’s mission and goals, and result in outstanding customer service within the livestock nutrition business unit.
Essential duties:
- Build business relationships with current and potential Retail feed customers and Frontier branches
- Promote Frontier & CPM through marketing, advertising, and producer meetings.
- Clear understanding of Frontier’s target audience (employees, patrons, and communities)
- Work in collaboration with advisors from other business units.
- Develop and create whole farm plans that provide solutions specific to an operation’s long-term goals and provide an ROI.
- Support The Frontier Experience
- Educate customers and Frontier employees on products and positioning
- Attend and participate in Frontier Cooperative’s major events (Ultimate Acre, Customer Events, County Fairs, Seminars, Annual Meetings, etc.)
- Analyze sales data and create opportunities to increase wallet share
- Develop content and facilitate producer meetings
- Utilize 3rd party research to stay current with the latest information in livestock nutrition
- Active in community outreach, including FFA and 4-H relations, and other Youth Organizations.
- An active advocate for our farm families and agriculture
- Perform on farm research and utilize data with other producers
- Protects organization's value by keeping all customer financial information confidential.
- Ensuring standards of health, safety, and security to customers, vendors, and employees by following all company safety standards and regulations.
- Other duties may be modified and assigned to this position to meet the business needs of the company.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Experience in show cattle, sheep, goats, swine, and horses is important
- Creating a best-in-class experience for customers

- Ability to collaborate with a diverse customer base, and strong interpersonal skills
- Self-starter, with a track record for managing your own development, finding opportunities to learn and educate yourself about new programs, technologies, products, marketing, and sales customer relationship strategies
- Experience with multiple communication strategies for creating opportunities for new business
- Ensuring standards of health, safety, and security to customers, vendors, and employees by following all company, OSHA, and EPA safety standards and regulations.
- Other duties may be modified and assigned to this position to meet the business needs of the company.
- Degree in Agriculture Sales, Animal Nutrition, Livestock Management, Diversified Ag, Business, Ag Business, Ag Education, or experience in related field.
- Requires a valid Operator’s license and can travel within the trade territory.
