FRONTIER COOPERATIVE is an agriculture leader in Nebraska providing grain, agronomy, feed and energy products and services to our customers. We are now hiring a part-time Software Developer for our Lincoln, NE corporate office. This position offers a unique opportunity to build internal products to increase efficiency contributing to employee satisfaction.
Essential duties:
- Contribute to a software project comprised of various internal tools for Frontier employees.
- Create and update front-end Vue/Vuetify components.
- Develop and maintain API endpoints in Node.js/Express.
- Use Copilot to review and suggest improvements to the existing codebase.
- Collaborate with the development team to design, develop, and maintain software applications.
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to team discussions.
- Assist in troubleshooting and debugging software issues.
- Learn about the agricultural industry and how cooperatives operate.
- Engage with various departments to understand their software needs and provide technical support.
Job skills and requirements:
- Javascript (required)
- Vuetify (optional)
- Express (strongly preferred)
- Able to create Git pull requests (strongly preferred)
- Node.js (required)
- Vue (strongly preferred)
- Possess or currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Interest in agriculture and willingness to learn about the industry.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
