Equipment Operator

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Equipment Operator to join our road department. The ideal candidate will have experience operating various types of heavy machinery and equipment, ensuring safe and efficient operations on-site. This role is critical in supporting our projects and maintaining high standards of productivity and safety.

Duties

• Operate heavy equipment such as road graders, skid steers, dump trucks, to complete various road maintenance tasks.
• Perform routine maintenance checks on equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
• Follow safety protocols and regulations while operating equipment to minimize risks and accidents.
• Maintain accurate records of equipment usage and report any mechanical issues promptly.
• Participate in training sessions to enhance skills in heavy equipment operation.

Requirements

• Experience or ability to learn heavy equipment operation, including but not limited to road graders and other dirt equipment.
• Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot basic equipment issues.
• Valid commercial driving license is preferred but not mandatory.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety practices on the job site.
• Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to changing work conditions.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.92 - $23.17 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
