You will:
- Follow all DOT requirements for hauling and securing loads.
- Load and unload material onto the truck using mechanical equipment or manual labor, ensuring proper distribution of weight and securing the load for transport
- Perform pre- and post-trip inspections on truck and report safety issues to the appropriate party
- Operate vehicles in accordance with State and Federal DOT regulations. Complete and submit accurate logs, checklists and other required paperwork daily.
- Ensure safe driving practices to navigate various roads and weather conditions
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to coordinate pickup and delivery schedules and address any logistical issues that might come up
- Keep the vehicle clean and organized and free from unnecessary hazards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- May be required to work overtime and/or make an adjustment to work schedule, particularly during peak construction periods to ensure that all planned work is completed.
- Valid CDL Class B license with air brake endorsement.
- Minimum of two years of commercial driving experience in forestry, construction, or related industry preferred.
- High School Diploma or GED. Demonstrated related experience may be substituted for preferred education.
- Ability to safely operate a Prentice loader
- Meet all DOT requirements concerning driver qualifications.
- Ability to understand both written and oral driving directions
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision.
- Establish and maintain positive working relationships with other employees.
- Possess good written and verbal communication skills with ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and professionally.

- Perform Medium to Heavy work - Lift up to 50 pounds frequently,
- See, hear, talk, and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity. Climb, kneel, stand, walk crouch, stoop, reach, pull, push and other similar tasks requiring physical activity.
- Work outdoors and drive in all types of weather including dry, wet and humid conditions where temperatures can range from below zero to 90 degrees with exposure to noise, dust, gasses, fumes, mists, odors and vibrations; noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
