Description

POSITION SUMMARY

  • Responsible for the operational functions in the store including freight flow, front end, cash office, pricing accuracy, and assisting in Omni-channel fulfillment, and achieving company objectives in profit and loss control, and shrink results by supporting the store manager. You will directly manage a team assigned to the operational functions of the store.
  • The ASMO assists the GM in the operations of both firearms, general retail and in all services related. The ASMO will be able to perform all opening and closing procedures in the absence of the Store Manager.
  • Assists the Compliance Manager in duties related to firearms inventory.
  • Assists HR with the onboarding process of new hires and takes lead on all new hire training.

Primary Accountabilities

Achieve Results

  • Identifies current and future client requirements through established rapport.
  • Keeps merchandise orderly, in stock and secure.
  • Maintains staff by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees through planning, monitoring and appraising job results.

Operational Excellence

  • Regularly review inventory and minimize loss
  • Ensure the operations departments/teams meet all company operational standards
  • Maintain the stability and reputation of the store by complying with all legal and health requirements
  • Hold associates accountable for meeting established operational guidelines, brand standards, customer service expectations, and company policies
  • Evaluate inventory level and orders.
  • Complete understanding of all applicable ATF forms as it relates to the transaction of firearms.
  • Responsible for maintaining appearance of the store, inside and out.
  • Manage all back of house operations
  • Adhere to the ASMO schedule of duties.
  • Manage HR initiatives including new hire training and staff continuing education
  • Coordinate appropriate signage utilized in the store.
  • Other tasks/responsibilities as business needs dictate

  • Establish and ensure collaborative, supporting relationships within the entire organization.
  • Establish and maintain positive, effective relationships with key resources, including external vendors, suppliers, and customers.

Essential Functions/ Key Competencies

  • Monitor the budget in relation to staffing and inventory
  • Ensure opening and closing procedures are followed accurately and in a timely manner
  • Supervision and coaching of sales staff to maximize profits
  • Firm grasp of technology to execute accurate job function as it relates to class structure as well as Point of Sales systems
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods on the sales floor
  • Must be able to run simulator sessions
  • Must have flexible schedule and be available weekends and nights
  • Must have email access at all times
  • Excellent communication skills

Requirements

EDUCATION

Experience

High school diploma required, with college hours preferred.

Preferably 3-5 years of retail management; firearms knowledge and/or experience

Other

  • Normal overtime/extended work hours
  • Must be able to physically audit and inspect all operations
