POSITION SUMMARY
The Receiving Manager is an essential position in implementing and monitoring procedures
to ensure that proper inventory is in all store departments and locations. The Receiving
Manager will be an expert in the point-of-sale system and will be responsible for all purchase
orders being entered correctly, inspecting and tagging all merchandise as well as returning
defective merchandise or orders that are being rejected for any reason.

Manager will be an expert in the point-of-sale system and will be responsible for all purchase
orders being entered correctly, inspecting and tagging all merchandise as well as returning
defective merchandise or orders that are being rejected for any reason.

- Manage point of sale system accurately and in a timely manner
- Accurately input all incoming inventory
- Acquire and dispose of firearms and serialized items in compliance with established ATF practices.
- Manage the storage of all inventory, both on the sales floor and in back stock
- Monitor and maintain pricing is correct on the floor and in the point-of-sale system
- Identifies current and future client requirements by maintaining strong product knowledge and market trends.
- Receives, processes and ships Ecommerce orders, as necessary
- Develop, implement and monitor all key functions related to receiving purchase orders to assure that they are accurate and timely
- Work with key personnel to effectively implement process improvements to operational procedures in an effort to proactively optimize overall productivity levels
- Perform thorough research and document inventory discrepancies using all available resources to identify root causes and supply possible solutions
- Establish and ensure collaborative, supporting relationships within the entire organization.
- Establish and maintain positive, effective relationships with key resources, including external vendors, suppliers, and customers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/ KEY COMPETENCIES
- Build PO’s into Inventory Maintenance for FFL transfers and receive them into inventory
- Receive all serialized items in compliance with ATF practices
- Build and receive website orders in IMU
- Receive all manual and auto orders created by the Buyer
- Receive, unpack and inspect all items received and deliver to the appropriate department.
- Coordinate and help associates with running received freight
- Resolve inconsistencies in shipment
- Record all transfers coming in on a spreadsheet, maintain accurate records
- Collaborate with Accounting, Purchasing, General Manager and any applicable associates to maintain and implement inventory control changes
- Create and nurture positive relationships with customers through transfers and special orders
- Train staff to use the POS system with accuracy
EDUCATION
- High school diploma, with college hours preferred
- Former retail experience with inventory and point of sales systems, college hours preferred
- Normal overtime/extended work hours
